Fred Barrett - Naval Architect

Fred began his career in 1995, after graduating from AMC, working with Incat Tasmania. Between 1999 and 2002 he worked around the world developing first class boat designs and project managing boat builds including the build for Morning Glory, the first MaxZ86 CBTF design and the Open 50 Artforms and was invited to join the Telefonica Movistar Sailing Team based in SanXenxo in Spain, project managing the build of a custom design provided by Farr Yacht Design.

On returning to Hobart, Fred established a consulting business designing and managing boat builds and has recently partnered with Tri-Star Marine, based in Hobart. Fred’s knowledge and experience in marine architecture is at the forefront in developing new boat designs that increase speed and manoeuvrability and reduce running costs.

Fred’s passion is sailing and he believes Hobart is on the best places in the world for yachting.

Peter Fisher

Peter started manufacturing Tri-Star boats 25 years ago and has grown the business along with Paul from two employees to eight. Peter spends most of his time organising staff on the day to day running of the workshop. Peters experience within the industry has enabled Tri-star to be a key player in small to medium boat manufacturing business in Tasmania.
